Today is Judgment Day for controversial building proposal on Foothill Boulevard
The day has come.
I’m guessing that North Glendale residents will pack the City Council meeting tonight for the final hearing regarding the controversial 3-story building proposed for 3522 Foothill Blvd., the former site of Foothill Builders and Hardware.
In April, after multiple hearings and massive public outcry, Design Review Board No. 2 unanimously denied the proposed 38,574-square-foot mixed-use office and retail building.
Developer Farshid Khosravi appealed the denial, bringing the final planning decision on the controversial project to the City Council.
Many residents have passionately opposed the proposal, arguing that the large building won’t fit in the community. But the developer has contended that he has molded the building to the community’s wishes.
So either way the council goes, fireworks are likely tonight.
