Mountain lion spotted

July 29, 2009

Residents have reported this week spotting a mountain lion in the foothill neighborhood above Brand Boulevard.

Here are some tips that the Glendale Police provided to keep safe.

  • Don’t walk alone.
  • Carry a stick.
  • Carry keys, or place them on your belt, to produce a jingling noise.
  • Yell and make a commotion. If attacked, fight back – lions prefer easy prey.
  • If you are in a place of safety when the sighting is made, don’t leave. Call 9-1-1 or the Pasadena Humane Society at 626.792.7151.
