Gangs and drugs
I went out Thursday with Glendale Police Department’s Gang Unit on a probation and parole search in Glendale and Highland Park.
And detectives arrested a reputed Toonerville gang member who reportedly was addicted to heroin. His addiction was advanced.
He was injecting the needles into the veins on his legs and the palms of his hands. His legs had scabs.
But the most severe injury on his body was an open wound that appeared to look like a bed sore, but was likely caused by too many injections and an infection.
Police found a needle with heroin, which he tried to flush down the toilet before they entered his apartment.
