CVTC pancake breakfast
At the Crescenta Valley Town Council executive meeting held on Thursday night council members Frank Beyt and Dennis van Bremen discussed the upcoming Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 10. Beyt an admitted glass half empty type voiced concern about ticket sales while van Bremen, the glass half full type, said sales were right where they were last year at this time. No tickets have been sold. “So we are right on schedule,” said President Steve Pierce. The breakfast is an annual fundraiser/community event for the council and is very important to Beyt. Every year clubs from the high school sell tickets and get a share of the profits from their sales. It is good for the club and good for the council. This year they are opening it to organizations beyond Crescenta Valley High School. If your woman’s club, green club, mom’s club or any organization would like to support the council, and in turn yourself, call (818) 957-0246. Tickets sell for only $5 each, but there is a slight catch—your club is responsible for selling at least 25 tickets. But come on, buttery pancakes, sweet syrup and sausage and a chance to see council members in aprons isn’t that worth 5 bucks? It is good for your community, good for your organization and you could show Beyt that behind every dark cloud is not another dark cloud.
