On the agenda: a new well, grease disposal and city commissions…
Since tonight is the city’s weekly City Council meeting, I thought that for today’s blog post I would give you a quick run down of some of the item’s on the agenda.
- Foothill Well project: The City Council is expected to approve a $1.3 million well project that would help the city increase its use of local water and in turn decrease its reliance on imports from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which supplies about 70% of the city’s water.

- Fats, oils and greases: The council is expected to approve a new ordinance proposed by the Public Works department to help the city crack down on the illegal disposal of fats, oils and greases into the city’s sewers.

- City boards and commissions: The City Council will discuss a proposed change to the appointment process for the city’s boards and commissions which would sync the board or commission member’s term with the council member who appointed him or her.
