The week of tirades…
I usually blog about Glendale City Hall and related topics, but after some recent pop culture incidents, I’m interested to hear your take…
First Joe Wilson, a Republic Congressman from South Carolina heckled President Obama during his Congressional address on health care.
Then Serena Williams ended her U.S. Open run with a profanity-laced rant directed at a line judge.
But in my opinion, Kanye West took the cake last night when he interrupted teen queen Taylor Swift’s Video Music Awards acceptance speech.
In a move that quickly became a hot topic on the Internet and cable news shows, the famously cocky artist stole the stage from Swift, arguing that Beyonce’s Single Ladies video was one of the best videos of all time. But Beyonce looked beyond mortified and Swift looked like she wanted to cry. Later in the night, Beyonce ceded her own award speech to let the country star finish.
West has since issued an apology, but it doesn’t seem like many fans want to let him off the hook. It will be interesting to see what he says when he is a guest on tonight’s premiere of Jay Leno’s new 10 p.m. comedy show.
So readers, what do you think? Whose tirade was the worst?
Wilson, Williams or West?
