With fire fears calmed, attention turns to mudslides
With the Station Fire close to containment, things have felt more normal lately.
The sky no longer has a dull ashy color to it. The air no longer smells like smoke. All Foothill residents are back in their homes.
While fire fears have calmed, concerns about potential mudslides and flooding are just beginning.
Veronica Rocha, our public safety reporter, wrote about residential concerns and the Los Angeles County response earlier this month. And our City Editor Jason Wells wrote about Glendale’s response in today’s News Press.
For more on the county’s response, check out an article from today’s Los Angeles Times.
I’ll be attending Glendale’s community meeting next weekend to learn more about their post-fire efforts — and I’ll keep you posted.
