Self-proclaimed ‘gadfly’ offers financial services to city
At last night’s City Council meeting, self proclaimed “gadfly” Mike Mohill offered to take on the city’s investment portfolio in lieu of paying the $100,000 for financial reported services requested by the city’s Treasurer Ronald Borucki.
During oral communications, Mohill railed against the city’s spending. After questioning a number of Glendale Water & Power contracts, he rested his sights on a $100,000 contract the City Council approved with Bloomberg Financial Services.
Bloomberg provides real-time online financial data services, which the city treasurer uses to access investment news and information and communicate with brokers, according to the city report.
“He wants $100,000? I’ll do it for free,” Mohill said.
The city didn’t take him up on his offer.
