Glendale’s FedEx Kinko’s Office completed its rebranding transformation to FedEx Office on Monday, dropping the Kinko’s brand name more than a year after the corporation opted to do so.

Crews finished installing FedEx Office signs and window displays Monday at the store at 225 N. Brand Blvd.

FedEx bought Dallas-based Kinko’s in 2004, merging FedEx’s packing and shipping operations with Kinko’s copy and print services.

But FedEx opted to drop the Kinko’s brand name in June 2008 to “better reflect its services and product offerings.”

Kinko’s, founded in 1970  as a single 100-square foot copy shop in Santa Barbara rapidly expanded to 24 locations within its first five years and 72 total stores four years later.  The company had more than 800 locations by the mid-1990s.
